Telegram needs to be held accountable for allowing all manner of sexual abuse to run rampant on its app, as shown in the images below.

People are openly selling or claiming to sell all sorts of violent pornography like child porn, revenge porn, non-consensual porn, rape porn, incest, etc.

Apart from openly advertising child porn, people are found talking about or looking for sex with children. Teenagers brainwashed by porn hawk themselves as sex slaves and dogs for abuse.

Men offer to or pretend to share pornographic images of their girlfriends and wives. Men openly talk about providing the women in their families or “getting” the women in others’ families for sex or, as they have learnt to call it, “incest fantasy”.

Hardly surprisingly, drugs are sold in the middle of all this as such crimes are often committed under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Telegram’s design makes it so that such activities can be indulged in without attaching any identifying information to a profile, not even a profile name.

The Telegram groups that such material and conversations can be found on are also home to thousands of people who say or do nothing about such blatantly criminal rapacious activities. They are not just complicit in their silence, many of them get sexual thrills from watching others engage in all this, continuing the vicious cycle of sexual abuse in society. But that silence and that cycle must be broken. At The Change Project, we vow to take this issue up persistently.
